The Adventure is About to Begin

Next week we're heading off to start our four week adventure in New Zealand. I can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday that we were booking our airline tickets and thinking February '08 seemed so far away.

We'll be flying from Toronto to Vancouver, then from Vancouver directly to Auckland. The Vancouver- Auckland leg is scheduled to be an 18 hour flight , not something neither Mike nor I are looking forward to. And then from Auckland we fly down to Wellington to catch up with our best buddies, Murrette and Gavin, who live there.

We don't have much planned for our first couple of days in NZ, to give us the chance to recoup from the jet lag. Then, we're off on the ferry to the south island. We'll be spending the next two weeks travelling around, exploring the South Island with Gavin and Murrette. Then it will be back to the North Island where Mike and I will spend the next two weeks making our way to Auckland and our flight back home.

Some of the adventures that we want to explore include the glow worm caves at Waitomo, swimming with the dolphins, climbing a glacier, black water rafting, doin' 90 Mile Beach, bungee jumping, touring Milford Sound, checking out the mud pools at Rotorua and viewing the art deco buildings of Napier to name just a few. There'll be lots more to discover while we're on our way around both the North & South Islands. We're hoping to get lots of pics and videos which we'll be posting on a hopefully regular basis. We know we won't be getting to do everything that New Zealand has to offer in one month, so we'll probably need to make a second trip in the future. We'll try to post a last 'Best of New Zealand' at the end. Of course, that'll be our choices. You'll need to make your own.
